General Ron Shoopman, US Air Force (ret) was the keynote speaker talking about his experiences on 9/11 while commanding an Air Force Fighter Wing charged to protect the southwest region of the US. When all flight across the US was halted immediately after the bombing of the towers, his was the only aircraft flying because he was returning to take command of the Fighter Wing
Dr. Carmona talking about the importance of the work of Veterans and First Responders and their service to our communities, state and the nation. He said this will be the only memorial of its kind in the US and how it will be a place of honor, reflection and education.
